Learning to ride a bike is widely viewed as a childhood milestone…but not every child in Edina has access to a bicycle or a comfort level with riding one. Through Summer is GO Time, Edina Give and Go is supporting a two week biking program for low income middle school students. Bikes are donated by community members and organizations, and Edina Give and Go provides helmets, locks, and instructors. Two South View Middle School staff members teach the students how to ride and maintain their bikes, follow the rules of the road, and navigate Twin Cities bike paths. The bike, helmet, and lock is theirs to keep at the end of the program. Your support gives these students the opportunity to enjoy the freedom of riding a bike and the gift of transportation.
The program costs $200 per student, and we appreciate any contribution you can make to help students participate. We are also looking for gently used or new bikes. Please click on the buttons below to GIVE.Please GIVE Here Please GIVE Resources
