Are you passionate about making sure every student in our community, no matter their socioeconomic background, has access to opportunities to learn, play and grow?  The Edina Give and Go Board of Directors is seeking an Executive Director who will continue to lead and support our mission to bring life and learning opportunities to Edina Public Schools students who are economically disadvantaged. We do this through advocacy and by removing financial barriers creating access to arts, academic and athletic opportunities in our community.

The ideal candidate will bring a mission-driven, visionary approach to creating and sustaining equitable access for local students while also demonstrating an energetic commitment to driving community engagement. Reporting to the Edina Give and Go Board of Directors, our Executive Director will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the execution and expansion of Edina Give and Go’s mission. 

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management

  • Partner with the board of directors to proactively define long range plan (3+ years) for the organization
  • Partner with staff Operations Coordinator and Engagement Coordinator to execute day-to-day financial and student granting requirements
  • Develop, maintain, and support a strong board of directors, helping to guide each committee to gain alignment with strategic direction
  • Ensure organizational excellence through a commitment to high quality financial, administrative, granting, fundraising, and communications plans
  • Recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve short- and long-term strategic goals
  • Ensure effective tracking and evaluation of progress so as to measure success that can be effectively communicated to the board of directors, funders, and other constituents

Fundraising, Communications and Community Building:

  • Expand local revenue generating and fundraising activities (events, individual donor cultivation, and foundation grant requests) to ensure fiscal sustainability and support student granting activity
  • Build relationships with families and students directly and through key district partners such as the Edina Resource Center, the school Cultural Liaisons, and social workers
  • Deepen and refine all aspects of communication – from web presence to external relations – with the goal of creating a stronger brand
  • Partner with the Edina Public Schools, Edina Community Education, and the City of Edina leadership to understand priorities, and build collaborative approaches to meet student needs
  • Serve as the primary ambassador and spokesperson of the organization and its mission

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven evaluation of results
  • Excellence in organizational management with the ability to manage and develop staff, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget
  • Strong marketing, public relations, and/or fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders in an evolving community landscape
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
  • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to achieving goals
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
  • Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed

Differentiators:

  • Bilingual or multilingual
  • Experience with CRM systems
  • Knowledge of and commitment to Edina

Compensation: Dependant upon experience and qualifications
