Summer Scholars is a program run by Edina High School teachers and funded by Edina Give and Go. The purpose of the program is to help economically disadvantaged high school students build connections within the school building, increase participation and success in Advanced Placement classes, and increase participation in extra-curricular activities while placing special emphasis on literacy, leadership, and resiliency. Summer scholars meet for a minimum of 20 hours over the summer in cohorts of 4-5 students led by a teacher. They participate in at least 8 events that may include field trips to businesses, research facilities, and schools in the Twin Cities. Cost per student: $635
